Jason Magidson is a Senior Transformation and Engagement Professional. A seasoned change agent with 30 years’ experience, Jason works with teams to create extraordinary employee engagement and a “we’re great together” culture. Over a number of years Jason has crafted a unique approach to employee and user engagement in business process transformation and improvement by assimilating best practices from multiple fields. He covers 25 of these practices in his new book, ENGAGED: Creating a Great Organization through Extraordinary Employee and User Engagement.
Jason has used these practices to deliver extraordinary results for organizations including IKEA, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, AmeriHealth Caritas, and Jones Lang LaSalle. Jason has facilitated transformation within and across functions including sales, finance, HR, procurement, manufacturing, R&D, drug development, and IT systems.
In his current role as Business Process Engineer at AmeriHealth Caritas, Jason has engaged more than 500 employees in transformation initiatives including new market implementation, care management, provider data management, and maternity care. In previous roles, Jason was Director of Innovation Processes at GlaxoSmithKline, co-founded Wildfire Commerce, and spent ten years in strategic management consulting.
In addition to Engaged, Jason authored two other books: Idealized Design: Dissolving Tomorrow’s Crisis Today (with Russell Ackoff and Herb Addison, 2006); and, Laughter is the Salt of Life (2008). He has published articles in Harvard Business Review, Journal of Product Innovation Management, and Journal of Business Strategy.
Jason received a B.S. in business administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in design thinking from Union Institute & University.
