2012 Symposium
The Philadelphia Society for Human Resource Management (PSHRM) – a professional association for human resource practitioners, educators and students across the Greater Philadelphia region – held its inaugural Philly SHRM Symposium on Friday, March 23rd, at The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia. Keynote speaker, Stuart Crabb, Head of Learning and Development at Facebook, gave his presentation “What it Means to be Social – The New Age of Employee Engagement,” to a sold out crowd and received an overwhelmingly positive response.
The Philly SHRM Symposium is a one-day educational conference focused on advancing the HR profession through both educational programs and personal connections. The 2012 Symposium offered 12 jam-packed, interactive sessions across four educational tracks: Leading the Talent, Analyzing the Data, Managing the Change and Engaging the Workforce. Speakers included leaders from Comcast, Vanguard, Independence Blue Cross, Microsoft and Campbell’s Soup Company among others. Liz Dow, CEO of LEADERSHIP Philadelphia, closed out the day with her presentation on “The Art of Engagement – Developing Connector Skills.”
